Job Description

Concerned with the applications of the laws of electrical energy and the principles of engineering for the generation, transmission and use of electricity.

Experience in design of integrated electronics, cabling and PCBs relating to aircraft instrument panels and assemblies.  Experience with working knowledge of hardware and software design, PCB layout and strong customer support and service.  Participate in a cross functional team.

Design and develop machinery and equipment for production and utilization of power
Experience in environmental and electrical qualification testing.
Prototype using provided test schematics
Includes the design and development of machinery and equipment for production and utilization of electric power
Techniques needed are those used in mechanical and process engineering
Typical areas of specialization are electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution, electrical and electronic components, equipment, and system manufacturing.
Under supervision, designs and develop analog and digital systems pertaining to lighted aircraft panels, assemblies and related subsystems
Receives direction for overall design effort.
Contributes to new product development team.
Manages projects as assigned
With direction, ensures designs meet all cost, functional, manufacturing, reliability, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
Participates with Marketing, Production group and other engineering personnel during product conceptualization phases and throughout project.
Provide electrical and mechanical materials and tooling cost studies
Work with assigned vendors to develop cost effective designs
Under supervision, develops detailed fabrication specifications and Quality Assurance protocols
May initiate, lead, and participate in design reviews with other engineering and manufacturing personnel

Skills & Qualifications

BSEE degree with minimum 2 years experience in design combination of academic and business
BSEE with minimum 5 to 7 years experience in design
Analog and digital circuit design
Schematic capture, printed circuit board layout
Programming, embedded real time control
Training and experience in design for Electromechanical Interference requirements preferred
Training and experience in design-for-manufacturing preferred
Training and experience in the use of six sigma tools preferred.

Demonstrates creativity and ingenuity in applying engineering principles and practices.

Proficient at solving problems in a timely manner.
Some project engineering experience and demonstrated mechanical project management skills
Some experience in analyzing complex technical problems involving mechanical packaging, systems with moving parts and thermal analysis.
Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated communication skills, including written and oral presentations
Demonstrates creativity and ingenuity in applying engineering principles and practices. Is able to draw solutions from a wider range of experience.

Proficient at solving problems in a timely manner.
Project engineering experience and demonstrated mechanical project management skills
Experience in analyzing complex technical problems involving mechanical packaging, systems with moving parts and thermal analysis.

Generally is more proficient at solving problems in a timely manner.
Working knowledge of specifications applicable to military or commercial aircraft instrument panels preferred.
Preparation of required supplier documentation preferred.

FMECA, extreme value analysis, compliance matrices, etc.

Able to read and interpret documents such, as blue prints or mechanical drawings.
Ability to add subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Must complete all assigned paper work as required.
