Job Description


Job Summary & Essential Functions:

 
-Extensive experience in design of integrated electronics, cabling and PCBs relating to aircraft instrument panels and assemblies. Extensive working knowledge of hardware and software design, PCB layout and strong customer support and service. Lead a cross functional team.
-Design and development of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) at subsystem and system level for Aerospace. Avionics panel design to MIL-DTL-7788 experience preferred. Illuminated push button design to MIL-PRF-22885 preferred.
-Define requirements and interfaces for avionics Human Machine Interface - design, integrate, implement and validate Human Machine Interface for component and system level avionics products.
-Provide engineering technical support and design input for projects.
-Identifies problems and actively devises appropriate solutions in regards to conception, development, and implementing manufacturing processes for Switch and Panel assembly lines. Technically document procedures and processes.
-Collaborate with bid proposal, purchasing, production, quality, contract management, and outside vendors to set and meet schedules and accommodate other customer requirements.
-Conduct root cause analysis and propose corrective actions for continuous improvement and for resolutions to manufacturing problems including processes, machines, or programming issues.
-Develop and implement ROI analysis for capital equipment recommendations.
-Plans multiple projects simultaneously. Estimates, tracks & completes project on time and within budget.
-Perform other assignments as required.

-Functioning as the Lead Engineer in defining the design specifications, architecture and manufacturing for various lighted Push Button Switches and panel products.
-Work with the customers, other cross functional team members, and suppliers to ensure overall design meets functional and business requirements.
-Must have extensive design capabilities in lighted push button switches, panels or other intricate electrical devices. Detailed responsibilities include and not limited to overall proposal preparation, conceptual design, and component design including circuit layout, testing, plus performance data evaluation. A good understanding of aerospace and test instrumentation is also required.
-Qualification, acceptance and environmental stress screening testing experience preferred
-Proficient in technical writing, good documentation skills; attention to detail is critical; ability to read and interpret engineering drawings required.
-Extensive knowledge of electrical schematic and design layout skills
-Prior experience with an ISO9000 AS9100 environment is a plus.
-Demonstrated analytical expertise including ability to plan, resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities.
-Understanding of DOE, 6-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing desired.
-Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers and project company image to attract business.
-Preparation of required supplier documentation preferred. FMECA, extreme value analysis, compliance matrices, etc.
-Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred
-All other duties as assigned

Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered.  List in bullet fashion what they must possess.

-Minimum BS EE with 10+ years of engineering experience, masters preferred.
-Must possess a minimum of 10 years in engineering functions consistent with the specific position requirements.
-Proficient in the following:
o SolidWorks, MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, Electronic Design Manufacturing (EDM),
-Must be a U.S. Person
