Job Description

Experience in design of integrated electronics, cabling and PCBs relating to aircraft instrument panels and assemblies.  Have working knowledge of hardware and software design, PCB layout and strong customer support and service.  Participate in and lead cross functional teams. 

  • Design and develop analog and digital systems pertaining to lighted aircraft panels, assemblies and related subsystems.

  • Provide direction and project management for overall design effort.

  • Contribute to new product development team.

  • Manage multiple projects.

  • Ensure designs meet all cost, functional, manufacturing, reliability, regulatory, and environmental requirements.

  • Work with Marketing, Production group and other engineering personnel during product conceptualization phases and throughout project.

  • Provide electrical and mechanical materials and tooling cost studies.

  • Work with vendors to develop cost effective designs.

  • Develop detailed fabrication specifications and Quality Assurance protocols.

  • Initiate, lead, and participate in design reviews with other engineering and manufacturing personnel.

Skills & Qualifications

  • BSEE with minimum 5 to 7 years experience in design.

  • Analog and digital circuit design.

  • Schematic capture, printed circuit board layout.

  • Training and experience in design for Electromechanical Interference requirements preferred.

  • Training and experience in design-for-manufacturing preferred.

  • Training and experience in the use of six sigma tools preferred.

  • Working knowledge of specifications applicable to military or commercial aircraft instrument panels preferred.

  • Preparation of required supplier documentation preferred.  FMECA, extreme value analysis, complicance matrices, etc.

  • Demonstrates creativity and ingenuity in applying engineering principles and practices.  Is able to draw solutions from a wider range of experience.  Proficient at solving problems in a timely manner.
  • Project engineering experience and demonstrated mechanical project management skills.
  • Experience in analyzing complex technical problems involving mechanical packaging, systems
    with moving parts and thermal analysis.
  • Demonstratedorganizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including written and oral presentations.
  • Highly proficient using Microsoft Office Suite programs including Project.
