Ducommun is seeking an Engineering Intern for summer 2023 to provide engineering support, including the following:  

•         Manages all aspects of small projects with regular review by senior staff

•         Development and testing of ammunition handling systems

•         Process engineer change orders and support engineering documentation

•         Adhere to General Requirements of Team Members

•         Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their
work area.

•         Perform other assignments as required.

Skills & Qualifications

§  3D CAD Modeling Skills required.  Autodesk Inventor Preferred

§  Knowledge of basic manufacturing test processes

§  Troubleshooting and problem-solving ability

§  Proficient in technical writing, good documentation skills; attention to detail is critical

§  Able to read and interpret engineering drawings

§  Prior experience with an ISO environment is a plus

§  Demonstrated analytical expertise including ability to plan, resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities

§  Understanding of DOE, 6-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing desired

§  Working knowledge at an intermediate level of computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Microsoft Project

§  Ability to communicate with customers and project company image to attract business

§  Flexible with high energy, able to handle multiple tasks smoothly

Education and/or Experience:

Sixty-(60) hours of course work towards BS or BA in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology or technical equivalent.
