Job Description

The expeditor plays a vital role in making sure that production has the resources it needs to run.

Monitors daily expediting reports and liaising with purchasing and planning by either pushing out or pulling in outstanding purchase orders
Expedite and confirm delivery of all open purchase orders to ensure timely arrival of materials to support production schedules
Liaising with vendors regarding lead times and product availability
Prepare detailed status reports for internal customers and confirm delivery commitments and advise of significant potential delinquent items.
Continually monitor suppliers to ensure progress against purchase order is in line with delivery timing as agree.
Maintain best working practices at all times
Confers with production who submit orders to determine needs and delivery schedules
Utilizes integrated ERP system to perform transactions for creating purchase orders, purchase order changes, inquiries, printing reports, entering of data, resolving exceptions, and any other functions as trained and instructed
Resolves invoices discrepancies from suppliers with purchase orders and approves invoices for payment
Establish and maintain vendor relations and serve as a liaison between company and suppliers for resolution of problems
Contacts suppliers and follow up on outstanding quotations and purchases. Confers with vendor concerning late deliveries. Notify appropriate internal personnel of late deliveries and reschedules
Coordinates, prioritizes, and schedules work load to achieve department and company objectives
Takes reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned responsibilities. Actions must be consistent with sound purchasing principals and within company policy
Coordinates with other departments for smooth flow of information, paperwork and materials
Solicits input of co-workers on effectiveness of procurement activities and implements viable recommendations under the direction ofmanagement
Arranges and participates in conferences between suppliers and company personnel
Performs other duties and assignments as directed by management

Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered. 

High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 2 years experience with Supply Chain in a production environment
