Job Description

Responsible for directing and overseeing all functions of the organization associated with facilities maintenance and production equipment. Schedules and supervises all employees working on the maintenance of buildings, grounds and systems that maintain the operation. Analyzes and determines the overall advantage of requests of facility improvements and equipment, to include equipment layout. Responsible for ensuring completions of routine building maintenance tasks. Oversight of building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g., carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing, etc.).

Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in the work of staff responsible for facility maintenance.
Manage and respond to on-line monitoring systems such as security detection systems, security access, fire control systems and physical on-premise contract security personnel.
Establish schedules and methods for providing facility maintenance services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly.

Train & work closely with Environmental Health & Safety to coordinate training in facility maintenance and safety methods, procedures, and techniques, such as “Lock-out-tag-out.”
Develop and organize preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs for all facilities and equipment
Coordinate construction projects, remodels, and other special projects with contractors in providing contract services and moving projects.
Monitor and control supplies and equipment; order supplies and tools as necessary; prepare documents for equipment procurement; prepared documents for equipment procurement; prepare specifications and contracts for contract services.

Participate in the preparation and administration of the facility maintenance budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures; prepare cost estimates; submit justifications for equipment.

Assist in the preparation of various contracts, requests for proposals, and reports.
Attend and participate in professional group meetings, maintain awareness of new trends and developments in the field of facility maintenance. Incorporate new developments as appropriate into programs.

Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.

Skills & Qualifications

Proficient in managing and responding to on-line monitoring systems such as security detection systems, security access, fire control systems and physical on-premise security.
Able to read and interpret documents such as blueprints or mechanical drawings.
Excellent verbal and written communication skill as well as the ability to utilize various math calculations and unios of measure while performing associated job duties.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office products, Microsoft project planning.
Ability to shift priorities with little or no notice
Perform other assignments as required.

Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required:
Light manufacturing operations to include office environment
Moderate noise levels
Ability to travel to other sites occasionally
Mandatory safety glasses in production locations
Personal protection (PPE) as required
