Job Description

Job Summary & Essential Functions:  

Prepare cost estimates and price quotations on new business as well as redesigns of existing business within established deadlines

  • Review specifications, drawings, verbal instructions, and interpret for material and labor requirements

  • Develop accurate cost information for labor and/or materials associated with doing quotes for mechanical business and mking productions; collect information from Engineering, Purchasing, Productions, etc. as required.

  • Combine labor and material estimates from vendors and/or internal sources and prepare preliminary quotation

  • Create labor routers for assemblies, ensure existing routers accurately reflect actual production times.

  • Prepare cost estimates and price quotations on new business as well as redesigns of existing business within established deadlines; ensure backup information is saved in department folders

  • Interpret information to make sound and accurate judgments based on previous knowledge.

  • Adhere to General Requirements of Team Members

  • Perform other assignments as required

  • Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated skill in reading and interpreting technical reports, data, drawings, specifications, etc.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects at a time.  

  • Strong computer skills and analystical skills

  • Professional attitude and demeanor; problem solving and prioritization skills

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including e-mail, Word, and Excel

  • Thorough working knowledge of manufacturing processes and capabilities; technical knowledge to understand cable fabrication

  • Detail-oriented and able to work with a high level of accuracy

  • Abilities listed in General Requirements of Team Members
