Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The maintenance technician performs basic maintenance and repairs on production and office machinery, equipment, physical structures, lighting, pipe and electrical systems by performing the following duties. Advanced repairs will be done by more experienced workers or service suppliers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Perform regular janitorial duties throughout the shop area of the building such as, but not limited to:
Garbage disposal
Regular floor cleaning
Bathroom stocking; cleaning when needed
Grounds keeping if assigned
Diagnose problems and\or repair machines by discussing machine operation variations with the Supervisors of the areas
Assists in the maintenance of appropriate inventory of replacement parts for production and office equipment
Installs new or repaired parts in defective machines and equipment under supervision
Performs basic maintenance tasks of operational requirements of production equipment and machinery such as, but not limited to:
Performs regular maintenance duties for the preventative maintenance program as assigned
Safety devices and equipment
Lubrication systems
Lighting, replacement of bulbs and fixtures
Basic plumbing and pipe systems
Regular maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment
Regular maintenance of HVAC
Assist with installation of new equipment and removal old equipment
Assist with coordination of building alternations and repairs with property owner
Work with Supervisor to obtain quotes as needed and coordinate any outside services in support of office, building, or equipment maintenance, repairs, and to maintain general standard of fitness.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma; One year certificate from college or technical school preferred; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
