Manufacturing Engineer III

The ideal candidate will work towards determining the optimal manufacturing methods and process for producing company products.  Understanding of productivity improvement methodology, LEAN processes, ergonomics, time studies for reducing waste and excess, line balancing, 6S, Kaizans, etc.

Our Facility in Carson, CA is our Engineered Products Group location, which houses our Human Machine Interface, Motion Control Device, Radiofrequency Departments.    

Job Summary

  • Support production operations on a daily basis to ensure quality and delivery targets are
    achieved.
  • Ability to communicate with the shop floor to generate “Job Breakdown Sheets” and “Work Instructions” required.
  • Knowledge of visual communication techniques to enhance written instructions is a plus. Knowledge of structured “Bill of Materials” and production routers is a plus.
  • Leading continuous improvement projects for process capability improvement are required.
  • Determine root cause analysis for production failure modes, then develop and implement
    solutions to those problems. Knowledge of A3 problem solving methodology a plus.
  • Strong tooling background for the development and/or re-design of production tools required.
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD required.
  • Understand quality measurement methods and statistical process control. Previous work in
    the quality field a plus.
  • Six Sigma and/or Root Cause Analysis training a plus.
  • Good communication skills at all levels is required.
  • Train shop personnel on manufacturing methods as required
  • Interface with design engineers and customer's engineers.
  • Occasionally communicates with customers on projects as assigned
  • Assists with the quoting process as assigned
  • Updates labor hours and manufacturing lead time information on new jobs as released from sales
  • Works directly on the production floor in support of direct employees needing assistance for production manufacturing engineering issues
  • Updates and matinees travelers with up-to date information to minimize redlining of travelers
  • Designs, tests and proves out tooling for use with production and prototyping projects
  • Works with design engineers to bridge design concepts to producible designs based on design of manufacturing principles
  • Perform other assignments as required

Required Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical, Mechanical or Technical Engineering Degree.
  • Five years of experience in a manufacturing engineering capacity
