Job Description

The Appleton Performance Center is seeking a Material Estimator to support our growing business!  The Material Estimator will acquire material pricing and labor estimates from approved sources and integrate information into quotation submittal format.  Additional responsibilities include:

  • Create and enter bills of material requirements into the bid system database.
  • Solicit appropriate vendors for material pricing and submit requests for quotes.
  • Review specifications, drawings, verbal instructions and interpret customer material requirements.
  • Create and maintain material file for estimating purposes.
  • Review quote for accuracy and forward for further review.
  • Perform other assignments as required.

• Demonstrated skill in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and specifications.

• Planning and organization skills—prioritization, resource allocation, multi-tasking.

• Must have intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including e-mail, work and excel skills. MRPII is a plus.

• Strong written and verbal skills to interact with people at various levels and functions inside and outside of Ducommun LaBarge Technologies, Inc.

• Understanding of manufacturing processes and capabilities.

• Detail oriented and highly accurate.

• 2 - 3 years of experience in quoting for defense and TINA projects

• Abilities listed in “General Requirements of Team Members”.
