Material Scheduler
Job Summary
This role is responsible for supporting the delivery of materials and services for the operating center or SBU (Strategic Business Unit). This will require strong understanding of procurement processes and commodities, as well as time management skills, negotiating skills and ability to manage multiple projects

Essential Functions
• Plans, schedules, places orders and administers purchase orders to ensure quality component is delivered on time in accordance with the requirements shown in ERP/MRP, aligning with S&OP process and standard work.
• Forecast and demand reviews - creating requests for changes to the planning if forecast looks high or low.
• Past Due Orders review & communication to supplier; update PO's with status – responsible for Supplier delivery OTD to minimize component past due.
• Manage master blank order to release material schedule according to material needs, confirm supplier material delivery and follow, expedite order delivery to meet production schedule.
• Review Purchase Requisitions queue, manage critical releases/aged requisitions and take action.
• Supplier order management - expediting - ensure suppliers are performing to meet on time delivery (OTD).
• PO confirmation management ensuring suppliers are performing to expectations.
• Support supplier development activities align with commodity strategy.
• Responsible for material inventory accuracy and inventory level - balance between safety stock and inventory level.
• Support and align commodity strategy within scope of control to achieve Cost and productivity savings in line with targets.
• Ensure ITAR compliance and control through secured and coded correspondence and designated / approved communication portals.
• Validation of data and systems for accuracy and other procurement support functions.
• Supplier Goods Receipt Queries - actioned and reviewed in a timely manner to ensure supply is not affected.
• Lead-time review to mitigate gaps in supply, reduce short to lead time orders.
• Update internal reports in support of key metrics.
• Use of operation system tools- 5S, Kaizen, RCCA, Gemba activities, etc. to achieve improvement objectives.
• Support development of standardization, guidelines, and policy compliance requirements across category level.
• Support and promote company core values of honesty, professionalism, respect, trust and teamwork and utilize the Ducommun Way methodology to achieve objectives.
• Interface with every key functions and levels of the businesses as required.
• Daily Tier Meetings to support critical operational requirements.
• Supporting Audits (internal and external).
Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications
• Bachelor degree, or equivalent experience, in Business, Supply Chain, or other related degree.
• 2 + years of experience in procurement of material for aerospace contracts and under FAA, FAR, DPAP or other government regulations.
• Aerospace or Electronic Component manufacturing experience desired.
• Working experience with QS/ISO, ERP, or MRP environment and culture.
• Knowledge of engineering, production and process techniques such as lean and continuous improvement.
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel, Power Point, and Systems Database/Query Capability.
Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, occasionally lift one to ten pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus to review supply chain documents, identify parts and clearly see operations and identify hazards in the production area. Use of computer screen and other electronic devices.
• Working Conditions are: 80% office environment, 15% manufacturing environment; 5% outdoors.
• Noise level is moderate in office environment.
• Hearing protection must be worn in designated manufacturing areas.
• Fully enclosed shoes, leather construction, must be worn in all manufacturing areas.
• Safety glasses (ANSI Z87 compliant) required in all manufacturing areas.
