Job Summary & Essential Functions:  

The primary responsibility of this position is to plan, direct, coordinate and execute activities for multiple projects to ensure that all project goals are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters while ensuring compliance with all company, customer, and regulatory requirements.

Essential functions include:

•         Review project proposals to determine time frame, funding & staffing requirements, and allocation of available resources to various phases of the project.

•         Develop and maintain resource-loaded Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) with detailed Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), with assigned duties and scope of authority.

•         Day to day management of assigned projects and project teams to ensure projects progress and complete on schedule and within budget.

•         Identify risks, create mitigation plans, and drive actions to completion.

•         Approve all documentation used in project, including instructions, aids, and drawings.

•         Communicate daily with Operations, Program Management and Facilities Engineering departments to ensure efforts are effectively coordinated and all risks are understood and planned-for.

•         Prepare and publish project reports, including forecasts, variance explanations and other financial & technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.

•         Provide technical input to bids and proposals team for customer Requests For Quote (RFQ).

•         Perform other assignments as assigned by management.


Skills & Qualifications

Required Skills, Qualifications and Education: 

•         Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.

•         Minimum of five (5) years’ aerospace and defense manufacturing (in an ISO-9000 / AS-9000 environment).

•         Demonstrated leadership and ability to drive projects to completion.

•         Prior experience with product transfer to/from/between manufacturing sites.

•         Demonstrated analytical expertise including ability to plan, prioritize, and resolve problems.

•         Experience working in a diverse and changing environment supporting multiple internal and external customers simultaneously.

•         Must possess the ability to lead without authority, negotiate and manage by influence.

•         Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.

•         Proficient in technical writing; excellent communication and documentation skills.

•         Working knowledge of DMAIC, RCCA, DOE, 6-Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing.

•         High energy, dynamic individual who strives for continuous improvement.

•         Highly hands-on with a strong mechanical aptitude.

•         Ability to travel domestically and overseas as needed up to 10%.

•         Extensive working knowledge of MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.

Desired Skills, Qualifications and Education:

•         BSEE, BSME, or BSIE

•         PMP Certification or MBA

•         Knowledge of and experience with electronic circuit card manufacturing

•         Working knowledge of AutoCAD or other computer aided design software

•         Experience in labor, cycle time and defect reduction

•         Working knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
