Job Description

This position requires a 3-3-1 schedule of either A Team, B Team, or C Team Schedule. Shift and training schedule will be determined upon offer. Once training is completed, employee will go to offered shift if different than training schedule.

(Team A Schedule 6:00am-6:30pm) which includes:
Week 1: 3 days (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)
Week 2: 4 days (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and every other Sunday)*

(Team B Schedule 6:00pm-6:30am) which includes:
Week 1: 3 days (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)
Week 2: 4 days (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and every other Sunday)*

(Team C Schedule 6:00am-6:30pm) which includes:
Week 1: 3 days (Thursday, Friday, Saturday)*
Week 2: 4 days (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and every other Sunday)*

*Hours/schedule may be modified due to Company need.

 Includes: 80 Hours of Holiday Pay per year, 80 Hours of Vacation accumulating bi-weekly per year, 40 Hours Sick accumulating bi-weekly per year.

Job Summary & Essential Functions:  The following describes in general terms the purpose and scope of the position. Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
• Operation of CMM and other various inspection equipment
• Review and validate CMM inspection reports to determine compliance to hardware.
• Inspect production hardware and tooling using CMM inspection equipment, which includes first part verification and calibration/verification of existing tooling.
• Interprets engineering drawings, and confers with management and engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
• Interprets and inspects to customer supplied digital product definition and engineering drawings.
• Utilizes Unigraphics and Catia software to document and validate CMM inspection results.
• Develops CMM inspection programs and part models for production hardware and tooling.
• Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from imposed customer requirements.
• Sets up and performs part and tool layout to support production in manufacturing compliant hardware.
• Supports engineering and production in the development of tooling by tool layout digitization.
• Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
• Deals with customers on issues pertaining to CMM inspection and data interpretation.
• Organizes and maintains electronic and hard copy storage of inspection records.
• Maintains inventory and orders necessary CMM supplies and equipment.
• Leads quality meetings on limited subjects.
• Participates in root cause analysis for corrective actions.
• Proficient at mentoring other operators with evaluating and resolving process issues.
• Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, qualifications, competencies, abilities and any physical demands if required.  Physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential requirements of this job. 
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mylars and other inspection media.
• Two years aerospace inspection, quality experience or machinist experience is required.
• Previous experience operating CMM equipment is desired.
• Familiarity with CMM inspection operations and part or tool lay out.
• Basic understanding of GDT.
• Math skills should consist of CMM coordinates, datum’s and other math skills necessary to perform CMM inspection.
• Ability to use measuring instruments including but not limit to calipers, micrometers, indicators, and scales.
• Knowledge and use of Unigraphics and Catia software (CAD/ CAM), and digital data/digital product definition.
• Knowledge of AS9100, SPC and NADCAP is a plus.
• Have a good memory for detail.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Organized and have good record keeping skills.
• Read and understand internal procedures and policies
• Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.
• Works independently with minimal supervision

Skills & Qualifications

Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered. 
• High School Diploma;  Some College preferred ; up to 5 years related experience in job function and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience
• Two years aerospace inspection, quality experience or machinist experience is required.
• Basic understanding of GDT.

• Annual eye exam is required.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; reach with hands and arms; and effectively communicate.
• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Occasionally required to sit and stoop.
• Safety Footwear shall be in accordance with the following: ASTM standard F2413-05 with minimum impact resistance, compression resistance and metatarsal designation ratings of 75 foot pounds (i.e. ASTM F2413-05 I/75 C/75 Mt/75), which are viewable on the inside tag of footwear.
