The Quality Inspector ensures all parts manufactured, and purchased, by Nobles Worldwide, Inc. (Nobles) complies with all dimensional, material, functional and performance specifications as directed by the customer and/or internal policy.  The Quality Inspector assists in the administration and company-wide compliance with the Nobles Quality Management System (QMS). This position reports to the Quality Manager.

Essential Functions 

•        Conducts in-process inspection of manufactured parts ensuring strict dimensional compliance to the drawing

•        Reads and interprets drawings/blue prints to ensure compliance with material, dimensional and performance standards

•        Ensures drawings are to the most current revision and reference the most up-to-date standards

•        Conducts final inspection of assemblies and sub-assemblies, prior to packing, to ensure material, dimensional, functionality and performance compliance and manages material certifications.

•        Uses measuring tools, both mechanical and automated, to ensure dimensional compliance

•        Keeps meticulous records for all inspections conducted

•        Manages quality records to ensure lot and part traceability

•        Inspects purchased material, both raw and finished, to ensure adherence to quality standards

•        Assists with the instruction for reworking parts as required

•        Quarantines non-conforming material in accordance with the QMS

•        Assists the Quality Manager with ensuring company-wide adherence to the QMS

•        Conducts internal audits, on functional areas, as directed by the Quality Manager

•        Conducts first article inspections on new products and/or as required by the customer

•        Advises Quality Manager on methods for improving product quality, design, and/or manufacturing processes.

•        Conducts product testing and verification of process.

•        Meets with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and Company personnel to discuss and resolve quality challenges and issues as required.

•        Prepares quality related reports.

•        All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Quality Manager


Skills & Qualifications

•        Perform inspections per control plans/inspection plans, validate and document results.

•        Operate precision measuring instruments in accordance with approved procedures.

•        Interpret visual and dimensional quality criteria to operators.

•        Ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings.

•        Participate in problem solving activities.

•        Basic reading, writing, and math skills.

•        Understanding of basic statistical technique.

•        Ability to operate inspection instruments.

•        Basic computer literacy.

•        Ability to read basic blue prints.

•        Familiar with AS9100 and ISO quality management systems.

Required Education

•        High School diploma with strong relevant work experience is required (working knowledge of hand-held measuring equipment and Optical comparators).


Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required

•        Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 

•        Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to vibration.

•        Noise level is moderate
