Job Description

POSITION WILL BE LOCATED IN THE SOUTHEAST REGION OF THE US. 

The Business Development Executive will report to the VP Sales & Marketing and Program Management and has primary responsibility for developing, growing and managing the relationship between DCO and the Strategic Customer(s) as determined by the VP. You will be equally accountable for revenue and profitability numbers of the Strategic Customer(s) partnered with the performance centers. You will ensure that DCO grows in line with the Strategic Plan through the successful management and growth of his/her strategic customers.

Primary Functional Responsibilities (Essential Functions of the Position):

• Own DCO’s relationship with their strategic customer(s) by:

• Developing effective relationships with all key stakeholders;

• Understanding their strategic growth plans;

• Knowing who the decision makers are and their needs;

• Engaging DCO leadership and their teams effectively

• Define and execute Customer Engagement Plans to optimize growth opportunities at their strategic customer(s) – including successful conclusion of bids and proposals, early identification of new opportunities, win strategies and relationship management

• Ensure DCO grows through the formulation and execution of strategies and capture plans that optimize DCO’s strengths in core competencies, products and services at their strategic customer(s)

• Provide effective communication to the DCO leadership team on the execution of Customer Engagement Plans, Customer Development Plans, Profitable Growth initiatives and status of the BD pipeline for their strategic customer(s)

• Execute AOP & LRP growth strategies

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Highly matured relationship development skills – high Emotional IQ

• Highly developed self-motivation skills and ability to work remotely with a cross functional matrixed team

• Ability to prioritize work and meet competing or short-notice deadlines consistently.

• Motivated self-starter with ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Exceptionally strong oral and written communication skills.

• In-depth knowledge of the markets and customers served by DCO

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to use Excel and other tools as required, including CRM.

• Strong business acumen, team building skills and the ability to engage internally and represent Ducommun across senior level customer forums.

• Willing to travel 50% or greater

Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:

• Bachelors and/or Master’s degree from an accredited university/college in business or engineering related discipline.

• Minimum customer relationship experience (10+ years) in appropriate markets with demonstrated results with proven customer relation skills and managing customers as partners.
