Technical Writer

Creates and maintains work instructions for a variety of functions (primarily assembly and test documentation).

Job Summary

  •  Researches and builds knowledge about products, services, technology, or concepts to be documented
  • Determines the clearest and most logical way to present information and instructions for greatest reader comprehension and writes technical instructions accordingly
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
  • Manage updates and revisions to technical literature
  • Prepares graphics and illustrations to complement technical writing
  • Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
  • Meets with subject matter experts to ensure that specialized topics are appropriately documented
  • Revises instructions based on product changes, recommended improvements and frequently asked question
  • Creates, adapts, and follows project schedules and deadlines
  • Remains up-to-date on technological and product developments as well as universal specifications relevant to his or her industry
  • Develops and publishes metrics to access work instruction efficacy, and responds with improved documentation.
  • Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational procedures and manuals
  • Research, develop and document technical design specifications and test scripts
  • Produce electronic documentation in addition to hard copy manuals
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally with internal and external teams

  • High level of integrity and dedication, a positive work attitude and strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications

  •  Associated degree or equivalent experiences
