Job Summary & Essential Functions:  The following describes in general terms the purpose and scope of the position.

Position is responsible for general accounting to support the department and overseeing timekeeping. 

General Accounting:

  • Labor reconciliation process.

  • Daily labor reporting/clock in-job in/prepare file and email issues to managers.

  • Daily Cash Report

  • Preparation of journal entries.

  • Monthly and quarterly reporting schedules for Corporate.

  • Account analysis and reconciliation.  (Travel advances and employee receivables, petty cash)

  • Organization and maintenance of journal entries binder and scans with review for signature compliance.

  • SOX audit and compliance support.

  • Extract info from BAAN and prepare expense and vendor analysis as requested.

  • Coding and maintenance of petty cash file and funds.

  • Assist with other accounting and payroll tasks as needed.

  • Must be willing and able to work overtime as necessary.

  • Good attendance is an essential function of the position.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required by the position.

 Capital Acquisition Request (C.A.R.) Administration:

  • Maintenance of records

  • Assist in determining costs related to C.A.R.s and resolution of closing issues

  • Investigate and obtain completion statements from managers/initiators of C.A.R.s

  • Fixed asset addition template preparation 

 

Timekeeping Administration:

  • Compile, verify and enter adjustments and miscellaneous pay and deduction items.

  • Compile time-time off requests and verify entries in KABA.

  • Unlock KABA records and reset passwords for managers.

  • Forward to Ducommun Payroll the Paydata Express Grid, scanned backup data and the unsigned time report when all are complete.

  • Review ProBusiness export and confirm completion with Ducommun Payroll Manager and/or Payroll Specialist.  (This process starts on Tuesdays after Corporate notification.)

Address PTO and payroll related inquires for employees, managers and human resources.

Skills & Qualifications


Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered. 

  • Associates Degree in Accounting; or 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, and experience.
  • Acute attention to detail mandatory

  • Ability to work independently required.

  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of impact of Sarbanes-Oxley is helpful.
