Job Summary & Essential Functions:  

The Accounting Lead will be responsible for the revenue recognition (ASC 606) related activities including directing the creation of revenue recognition related files at period end, uploading and/or supporting the uploading of the files into the revenue recognition software, revenue recognition quarterly close process, revenue related disclosures for Form 10-Q/Form10-K filings, and performing revenue related technical accounting research.  In addition, support the rest of the Corporate and Shared Services Accounting Teams with their duties which could include maintaining the general ledger for the Corporate departments, monthly close process for the Corporate departments, assist in preparation of SEC filings, assist in the preparation of the quarterly earnings releases, perform other technical accounting research, internal controls, and various special projects.  This position and related activities will require interfacing with all levels of Operations, Corporate, and Accounting personnel on a regular basis.

Some of the specific duties include:

  • Learning and gaining a solid understanding of ASC 606 as it relates to the Company and the Company’s revenue recognition process

  • Reviewing revenue contracts, researching the appropriate revenue recognition model that would be applied under ASC606, and then documenting the research and conclusion

  • Perform ASC 606 close related activities at period end (i.e., recording of journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, etc.)

  • Preparing and/or reviewing ASC 606 related disclosures for Form 10-Q/Form 10-K filings

  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements

  • Working with the other functions within the Company

  • Support accounting activities for the rest of Corporate which could include preparing journal entries, preparing and/or reviewing account reconciliations, etc.

  • Support the preparation of SEC Form 10-Qs, Form 10-Ks, Form 8-Ks, etc., and related other disclosures in accordance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements

  • Supporting internal and external auditing activities

  • Solid communication skills (written and oral)

  • Attention to detail as needed to ensure accuracy of financial information

  • As needed, participate in various special projects

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Solid knowledge of GAAP

  • At least intermediate Excel skills and solid computer skills with all Microsoft Office software

  • Hands on experience with a revenue recognition software (specifically, RevPro) is a plus

  • Hands on experience working with an ERP system is a plus

Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university

  • CPA or CPA candidate

  • Two years of recent Big 4 or 2nd tier public accounting experience.  In addition, one to two years in private industry is preferred

  • Experience with manufacturing-based companies is preferred

  • Experience with SEC reporting is preferred

  • Solid knowledge of GAAP

  • Solid knowledge of internal controls and SOX 404 requirements
