Job Title: Customer Quality Engineer 1                                  Job Code: 001320

Reports To: Manager Product Integrity                      FSLA Status: Exempt

Job Summary & Essential Functions: Support quality for current and future manufacturing requirements and determine the most effective methods to improve productivity through the management of people and technology.     

 

       Essential Functions

% of Time

• Review and analysis of the customer PO to assure compliance.

15%

• Provide Customer requirements to Manufacturing in the form of Quality Flow Down requirements.

20%

• Facilitate customer corrective actions request (CCAR) responses by providing support to Customers including root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions to resolve problems in manufactured product.

25%

• Data mining for trend analysis of defects and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

10%

• Requires colloboration and coordination with other functional groups as well as weekly progress updates to communicate status of open action items.

5%

• QA representative at meetings as required

5%

• Assist with Annual Internal Audits and Product Process Audits to ensure compliance.

5%

• Assist in defining and monitoring the quality management system and in developing an organizational culture that stresses quality processes.

• Perform other assignments as required.

• Assist in monitoring personnel and processes to ensure compliance with company guidelines, policies and procedures. Update area supervision regarding concerns.

• Assist and support other special projects and tasks as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly processes together with work measurement and work standards.

  • Proficient in technical writing, good documentation skills; attention to detail is critical; ability to read and interpret engineering drawings required.

  • Demonstrated analytical expertise including ability to plan, resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities.  Understanding of DOE, 6-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing desired.

  • Intermediate level of computer skills in email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Microsoft Project and MRP/ERP.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers and project company image to attract business.

  • Negotiation and conflict management skills together with demonstrated experience troubleshooting and problem-solving.

  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and adapt within a rapidly changing environment.

    Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered. 

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field preferred.

  • 2 years minimum experience in a manufacuting setting preferably in a quality role

  • Prior experience with ISO, AS, or NADCAP environments a plus.
