Job Description

 Job Summary & Essential Functions: The following describes in general terms the purpose and scope of the position. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Employees must meet all customer/company quality expectations and/or requirements in order to ensure product integrity.

• Package and ship customer products per government and customer packing and routing instructions utilizing various mil standards to determine correct and acceptable alternate packaging methods

• Prepare items for shipment to DCO customers

• Ensure proper documentation of shipments (i.e., packing slips, certifications manifests, bill of lading, government bills of lading, customs paperwork, DD250's, 1149's and statements of work)

• Determine applicable methods of packaging (commercial and military).

• Route traffic of shipments according to customer routing instructions which includes set-up, call in, tracing and confirmation. Work with customs brokers for foreign shipments.

• Properly identify customers' packaging requirements, decipher military packaging specifications according to codes provided. Understanding of bar codes and determines when it is appropriate to utilize such

• Coordinate incoming products and shipping. Coordinate customer DCAS and DCO inspections

• Control inventory for packaging materials to meet shipping schedules and minimize DCO inventory

Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered.

• Certification required for operation of Forklift, Counter Balance Stacker, Narrow Isle Reach Trucks and Cranes.

• Five (5) years shipping experience, knowledge of government packaging and mil specifications, safe use of power tools (i.e., band saws, radial arm saws, drill motors, nail guns, staple guns, banding tools, and impact wrenches).

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

• Ability to speak effectively before groups of co-workers and management

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form

• Ability to read and write in English at a 12th grade level

• Ability to perform basic math functions at a 12th grade level

• Good attendance and a positive attitude with a team player approach
