HR Technology Analyst (HRIS)

Job Summary:

The HR Technology Analyst is an intermediate position within the HR Technology structure. The primary focus of this position is the support and maintenance of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS), Talent Management System, and other systems supported by the HR Technology team. This individual serves as a technical point-of-contact within our shared services HR structure. The focus of the role includes ensuring data integrity, testing system changes, report writing, data analytics, training, and designing and implementing process improvements. The HR Technology Analyst also supports upgrades, patches, and other technical projects as assigned.


Essential Functions:

  • System Maintenance (% of time: 5)

Assist in the review, testing and implementation of system upgrades or patches. Collaborate with vendors, functional and technical staff to coordinate application of upgrade or fix. Maintain system tables. Document process and results.

  • Production Support (% of time: 25)

Provide support for HR technology including, but not limited to, researching and resolving system problems, unexpected results or process flaws; performing scheduled activities; recommending solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.

  • Projects/Process Improvement (% of time: 40)

Recommend process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy that must be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation. Serve as a key liaison with third parties and other stakeholders (e.g. payroll). Use project management skills in managing upgrades and implementation. May provide overall project management for a given HR initiative.

  • Reports/Queries (% of time: 10)

Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Assist in development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs. Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.

  • Training (% of time: 15)

Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Train end users on new processes/functionality. 

  • Individual Development (% of time: 5)

Maintain awareness of current trends in HR Technology with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies. Examine trends in information systems training, materials and techniques. Through classes, reading, CBTs or other mechanisms, continuously increase both HR knowledge and HR Technology application/tools knowledge. Participate in user group meetings/conferences.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of HRMS database design, structure, functions and processes, and experience with databases tools.

  • Strong understanding of HR processes and data, including recruiting, onboarding, organizational design, and performance management.

  • Expert knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with an Human Resources Information System and related self service tools. ADP Ev5 experience preferred.

  • Experience with an integrated Talent Management System including performance management, applicant tracking, onboarding, and learning management. Cornerstone experience preferred.

  • Experience with time & attendance system design and implementation. Kronos experience preferred.

  •  Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills.

  • Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related project and implementations.


Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.  Professional in Human Resources (PHR) preferred.

  • Three to five years of HRIS or specialist experience.

  • Three to five years of project management experience, preferably with systems implementation experience.
