Job Description

Ducommun’s Appleton Performance Center is seeking a part-time Human Resources Intern to help support the HR Team with recruitment, selection and onboarding of new employees to support our business growth. The ideal candidate would be available to work approximately 20-25 hours per week through the fall 2018 semester.

Job duties and responsibilities for the Human Resources Intern will include:

  • Prepare and post open positions; coordinate with department managers to ensure that procedures are followed
  • Assist with recruiting activities for nonexempt personnel; including conducting phone screens, scheduling interviews and follow-up with hiring managers
  • Assist with new hire orientations, including ensuring proper completion of all required paperwork
  • Create and maintain employee personnel files
  • Processing a variety of HR transactions by utilizing HR systems
  • Participate in and organize employee engagement and appreciation events
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality of information processed
  • Perform other assignments as required 

Skills & Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent field.  Junior or Senior status preferred.
  • Leadership skills—people management, meeting facilitation, presentation, and customer support
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers and project company image to attract and retain employees
  • Intermediate level of computer skills in email, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to interact with people at all levels and functions inside and outside Ducommun
  • Exceptional organization skills are required, with emphasis on attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and adapt within a rapidly changing environment
