Job Description


Responsibilities and actions listed in this document are to be executed in accordance with the Ducommun Incorporated I.T. Policies and Procedures and within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

 

Job Summary:

  • Part time (not to exceed 30 hours per week) position within the IT Operations group
  • Provide end user support, for Information Technology hardware such as PCs, Laptops, tablets, mobile devices and printers.
  • Provide end user support for desktop Operating Systems such as Windows Xp, Windows 7, Windows 8.x and Windows 10 and desktop applications such as Microsoft Office, Visio, Project and Adobe Acrobat. 
  • Assist troubleshooting and resolving Local Area Network (LAN) issues.
  • Perform various administrative tasks when directed.

Essential Functions:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve assigned Help Desk tickets such as computer hardware or software problems, computer hardware setups, installations and moves, software installations, printing and scanning issues, hardware decommissioning and disposal and phone / fax issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on all desktop and portable systems excluding devices or systems directly supported by a vendor like copiers and other highly proprietary systems and devices or those devices still under manufacturer’s warranty and onsite support is available.
  • Assist with resolving Local Area Network (LAN) issues.
  • Assist with server room operations when directed including data backups and related tasks, server installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Complete and document Sarbanes-Oxley checks when assigned.
  • Ensure adherence to I.T. Policies and Procedures.
  • Use various hand tools and diagnostic tools as required.

Support projects and the resolution of issues involving one or more company sites, when directed, which may require working outside normal work hours.

Skills & Qualifications


Experience/Training/Education/Certification:

  • High School Diploma

  • Ongoing training / education in IT

  • Experience building PCs

  • Experience loading Windows Operating Systems

    Knowledge/Abilities/Skills/Tools:

  • Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot Windows Desktop Operating Systems in a Windows Server Active Directory environment

  • I.T. equipment setup, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing skills.

  • Install, configure and maintain desktop applications such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, McAfee VirusScan, ERP clients and Engineering software.

  • Detail oriented, able to adapt to a changing environment, able to work unsupervised according to stated priorities and use resourcefulness and creativity to support a culture driven by continuous improvement.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • A positive, proactive and customer oriented attitude.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

Safety glasses in designated areas



Physical Demands:

Required to sit and stand for extended periods of time.  Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements may be necessary depending on job assignment.

Work Environment:

Working, lifting and sitting in various environments: office, production/assembly areas, inspection areas and machine shop.  Work is performed in a well lighted, climate controlled environment with low to moderate noise levels.
