Internal Auditor

Job Summary & Essential Functions:  

As a member of the Corporate Internal Audit Team, the auditor assists with supporting the annual audit plan in the areas of operational, financial, risk, and compliance audits.  The auditor will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and documenting the work performed in accordance with department standards.  The work is performed under the supervision of more senior department personnel. This is a progression position with progression based upon experience and education along with current business needs as well as affords the ability to be considered for numerous growth opportunities throughout the company.

  • Assists with all aspects of the execution of operational, Sarbanes Oxley, and compliance based audits as assigned from planning through report development.
  • Plans and completes assigned audits in accordance with accepted professional and department standards and within established timeframes. 
  • Collaborates with business process leaders and control owners to identify solutions to solve problems, improve work processes and strengthen controls. 
  • Accesses reports, data, and other information from various systems to develop and perform analytical procedures.  Utilize electronic audit tools and effectively apply technology in the audit process.
  • May assist and help direct the activities of less experienced department personnel or supplemental resources on audit assignments. 
  • Identifies and recommends strategies to drive audit efficiency through automation, standardization and streamlining of activities.
  • Provides assistance to external audit personnel as requested or assigned.
  • Identifies and recommends potential areas for audit involvement that may result in cost savings and improved profit potential.
  • Maintain independence and objectivity in all assignments
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • BS Degree required. 
  • No prior audit experience required, but helpful
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy in professional relationships and observe strict confidentiality, when necessary
  • Professional certification preferred or in-process.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide diversity of individuals
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment

  • Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time.

  • Work is generally performed under general office conditions in a temperature controlled environment.  Associate may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
