Job Description

Responsible for operating and multiple set-ups of highly repetitive types of short cycle machine operations associated with quantity production of identical units. Use of machines such as injection molding equipment, punch presses, sand or soda blast equipment.

  • Read and understand blue print drawings/specifications
  • Sets and operates a variety of conventional machines such as lathes, mills, precision grinders, table saw, band saw, routers, and drill press.
  • Determine optimal speeds and feeds of conventional machines.

  • Measure completed parts to ensure conformance to specifications.

  • Provide technical machining support to other personnel as needed.

  • Fabricate jigs or work holding fixtures as required to perform and complete tasks.

  • Maintain tools in proper operational condition

  • Determine methods or sequence of operations needed to fabricate parts.

  • Work with engineering or supervisor to exchange technical information.

  • Dispose of or separate scrap material in accordance to company and/or industry standards due to traceability.

  • Support new projects using machining knowledge.

  • Able to troubleshoot and find solutions to technical problems.

  • Safely work with and handle chemicals in accordance with MSDS Data Sheets.

  • Use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments to verify parts produced meet dimensions.

  • De-flashing and de-burring of parts produced

  • Complete all assigned paperwork as required

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blue prints, mechanical drawings, and router instructions.
  • Basic shop math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and understand the decimal system.
  • Ability to read and understand internal procedures and policies.
  • Ability to understand and follow through on both verbal and written instructions
  • Work with minimum supervision
  • Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.
  • Detail oriented with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate and provide technical information as required
  • Vocational, High school diploma or general degree (GED) education, or 1-3 years related experience in job function and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience
