Job Description

The Appleton Performance Center is seeking Manufacturing Engineer to assist in establishing operational methods and work standards as well as contributing engineering expertise for the site.  Additional responsibilities include:  

  • Analyzing existing operations and propose cost-justified improvements
  • Optimizing use of floor space, materials, personnel, and equipment
  • Analyzing work station designs for ergonomic compliance
  • Conducting studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record-keeping systems
  • Developing work simplification methods and job aids
  • Collaborating with engineering, purchasing, and contract management to establish production layouts and procedures to meet customer requirements
  • May perform design on special projects as needed
  • Adhering to General Requirements of Team Members
  • Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
  • Performing other assignments as required

Skills & Qualifications

Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications: 

  • 4-year technical degree in industrial engineering is required
  • 2-4 years experience in maintaining production and inventory control standards in a manufacturing setting

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly processes together with work measurement and work standards
  • Proficient in technical writing, good documentation skills; attention to detail is critical
  • Required: able to read and interpret engineering drawings Prior experience with an ISO-9000 AS-9000 environment is a
    plus
  • Demonstrated analytical expertise including ability to plan, resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities
  • Understanding of DOE, 6-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing desired
  • Working knowledge at an intermediate level of computer skills in e-mail, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Microsoft Project
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers and project company image to attract business
