Job Description

  • Plans, schedules, places work orders and administrates purchase orders to ensure quality components are delivered on time in accordance with the requirements shown in ERP/MRP.

  • Forecast and demand reviews - creating requests for changes to the planning if forecast looks high or low.

  • Manage master blank order to release material schedule according to material needs, confirm supplier material delivery and follow, expedite order delivery to meet production schedule.

  • Supplier order management - expediting - ensure Suppliers are performing to meet on time delivery (OTD).

  • Responsible for material inventory accuracy and inventory level - balance between safety stock and inventory level.

  • Past Due Orders review & communication to suppliers; update POs with status – responsible for Supplier delivery OTD to minimize component past due.

  • Validation of data and systems for accuracy and other procurement support functions

  • Review Purchase Requisitions queue, manage critical releases/aged requisitions and take action as required.

  • Support and align commodity strategy to achieve cost/productivity savings in line with targets. Support supplier development activities align with commodity strategy.

  • Request for quotes - ensuring we remain competitive - negotiation of price and lead-times for operation center specific and unique component.

  • Invoice Query Resolution - ensure timely action to ensure payments are efficient and Suppliers do not hold accounts, cease supply.

  • Use of operation system tools- 5S, Kaizen, Gemba activities, etc.

  • Updating on internal reports - in support of key metrics.

  • Lead-time review to mitigate gaps in supply, reduce short to lead time orders.

  • Daily Tier Meetings to support critical operational requirements.

  • Meet departmental KPI's and targets.

  • Supporting Audits (internal and external).

  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • College Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Technical or related field with 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • 2+ years of experience in an Aerospace environment.

  • Analytical skills to support ERP/MRP and Data analysis when dealing with high mix and low volume order book.

  • Continuous improvement mindset - Demonstrated success in achieving improvement utilizing standardized and recognized methods such as six sigma.

  • Dynamic, flexible to pick up every changing priorities and targets.

  • Strong negotiation skills, demonstrated cost reductions.

  • Working knowledge of inventory management practices (JIT, Kanban).

  • Intermediate/Advanced excel skills.

    Required Skills & Qualifications: 

  • APICS or ISM certification.

  • Experience in Lean Mfg. environment (Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).

  • Working knowledge of government procurement regulations (FAR) strongly preferred.

  • Ability to work independently with general direction.

  • Strong interpersonal skills in a team environment.

  • Exemplary communication skills demonstrating clear, timely information exchange, leading to comprehensive understanding of communicated message.

  • Functional Experience - Demonstrated examples of negotiations and supplier management leading to favorable result.

  • Aerospace or Electronic Component manufacturing experience desired.
