Punch Press Technical Lead
Job Description
Nobles is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented leader to join our growing team as our punch press technical lead. As the department lead you will perform training of other employees on the safe set-up and operation of all Punch Press equipment and processes. You will also be responsible to set-up and coordinate activities of workers engaged in operating a variety of machines to manufacture parts or products by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Train and observe other employees on safety procedures and safe operation of all equipment.
- Coordinates with Shop Foreman to direct the operation and performance of assigned work area to meet company standards for safety, quality, quantity and effectiveness.
- Guide and train employees in assigned area to develop and effectively use their work potential.
- Provide feedback of employee training results and performance to Shop Foreman.
- Ensure safe, orderly and clean plant facilities, work areas and equipment to facilitate production and to promote safety.
- Ensures 5S tasks are properly completed and documented as detailed for the area.
- Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel to minimize downtime and scrap.
- Sets up machines and equipment.
- Interfaces with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met.
- Uses production schedules and hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Coordinates with Shop Foreman to plan flow of materials through department.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Confers with Shop Foreman to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Works with Shop Foreman to direct the assignment of work stations.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3-5 years related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience with 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory position.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Frequently exposed to humid conditions, occasionally exposed to vibration.
- The noise level is usually moderate.
