As a quality technician at Ducommun, you will be instrumental in quality compliance through your efforts as a calibration tech and a trainer. You will have the opportunity to learn multiple quality functions and be an important part of the performance center team.

You will be supporting the common Ducommun goals of making our customers happy or happier while ensuring a quality product. You will be one of the first people to great new team members to Ducommun and ensure they are successful in their new roles.

Our quality technicians perform calibration, documentation and compliance (25% of time). They have a great eye for detail! They conduct the quality training for new employee orientation (15% of time) and recertification training for existing employees (10% of time). Quality Technicians perform DMR data collection and conduct review meetings (15% of time), assist with annual internal audits and product process audits to ensure compliance (5% of time). They create DAN's as requested by Quality Assurance and to maintain training plans (5% of time). They assist in monitoring personnel and processes to ensure compliance with company guidelines and procedures and update area supervision with any concerns (5% of time). They complete the contract review per QAOP 4.3 (5% of time). They perform other duties as assigned, such as special projects, to support the quality team and performance center (10% of time). They are the QA representative at meetings as required (5% of time).

In addition, as a quality technician you will be working with the quality team and cross functionally with human resources and operations. Great team work and positive attitudes are required!  Our quality technicians demonstrate strong work ethics, great critical thinking skills and a "can do" attitude.

Skills & Qualifications

Quality technicians have a thorough knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly processes together with work measurement and work standards. They must be proficient in writing and comprehending technical writing. Quality technicians have good documentation skills. Attention to detail is critical! Quality technicians read and interpret engineering assembly drawings as a day-to-day part of their job. They work with computer programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel as well as other job specific programs. Quality technicians must have good communication skills and be comfortable presenting to a single auditor or to a class of new employees. They must be able to multi-task and adapt to a rapidly changing work environment. Negotiation and conflict management skills with the ability to troubleshoot a problem is essential to this role.

At this location, we produce quality integrated electronics primarily for the military. Related experience is a plus! General requirements of all team members at this location are as follows: must possess a high school diploma or GED, must meet ITAR requirements of being a US Person, successfully pass the background and drug screening processes.

Quality technicians work both in the office environment and on the production floor. The production floor is a quiet, clean environment. Appropriate PPE is required. On very rare occasions, our quality technicians may be asked to travel.
Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk and sit on a frequent basis in order to perform their day-to-day duties. The ability to see and differentiate color is important and required in quality positions. Lifting requirements are normally less than 20 lbs.
