Sr. Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General mechanical maintenance, on various mechanical equipment such as, pumps, cranes, hoist, hydraulic systems, and steam generators
Make repairs, replacements, adjustments, inspections, trouble shoot, and preventative maintenance on all mechanical equipment.
Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts and examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. 
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. Start devices to test their performance.
Operates all types of conventional power tools
Operate 50 HP steam generators
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. 
Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. 
Lubricates, cleans, paint
Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
Arc, gas, tig/mig welding
Drive forklift, arial boom lifts, scissors lifts, and small truck
Repairs electrical equipment, run conduit
Install new equipment
Layout jobs and complies bill of material
Assists in training new employees & trainees

Experience/Training/Education/Certification: five years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiar with National Electrical Code. CPR and First Aid Certified

Knowledge/Abilities/ Skills/Tools: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. and to verbally communicate one on one or small groups. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
