Machine Operator- Production

 
The ideal candidate will be able to operate and/or run multiple set-ups of highly repetitive types of short cycle machine operations associated with quantity production of identical units.

Job Summary

 
This role is responsible for supporting the logistics and warehousing functions including material handling, staging, shipping and receiving. This will require supporting the flow of incoming materials and outgoing products to meet customer delivery requirements and support operational needs.

•          Read and understand blueprint drawings/specifications
•          Sets and operates a variety of conventional machines such as lathes, mills, precision grinders, table saw, band                           saw, routers, drill press, injection molding equipment, punch press, sand or soda blast equipment.
•          Determine optimal speeds and feeds of conventional machines.
•          Measure completed parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
•          Fabricate jigs or work holding fixtures as required to perform and complete tasks.
•          Maintain tools in proper operational condition
•          Determine methods or sequence of operations needed to fabricate parts.
•          Provide technical machining support to other personnel as needed.

•         Use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments to verify parts produced meet dimensions.
•         De-flashing and de-burring of parts produced
•          Able to troubleshoot and find solutions to technical problems
•          Dispose of or separate scrap material in accordance to company and/or industry standards due to traceability.
•          Safely work with and handle chemicals in accordance with MSDS Data Sheets.

•          Work with engineering or supervisor to exchange technical information.
•          Support new projects using machining knowledge.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
 
Knowledge of machines and tools
Ability to see details at close range
Knowledge of production processes, costs, and quality control Ability to quickly adjust controls of the machine
Must have good verbal skills in English Knowledge of basic arithmetic/ math skills Ability to read and understand dials and gauges
Basic typing and computer skills

Required Experience and Education

 
Vocational, High school diploma or general degree (GED) education, or 1-3 years related experience in job function and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience
