Manufacturing Technician

The Manufacturing Technician supports the Manufacturing area with hands-on manufacturing, assembly, and documentation. Familiarity with basic aviation tooling, measuring equipment, pneumatic and hand tools is essential. In particular, possess experience with countersinking and drilling of carbon fiber composites and thin sheet metal and assemblies.

Job Summary
  • Follow Work Instructions and processes to ensure manufactured parts and kit content meet the company's FAA-approved Quality Management System.
  • Perform quality checks, audits and inspections required and is accountable for the quality of any finished product, subassembly and/or installed components.
  • Document production operations in corresponding records and/or log sheets in accordance with work instructions.
  • Regularly perform routine cleaning and maintenance procedures for equipment and the manufacturing area.
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of plant operations by supporting LEAN and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to established workmanship standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, and ergonomics during performance of assigned duties.
  • Stage materials for order processing and perform timely and accurate completion of transaction (labor and material).
  • Assist with investigating and implementing new production methods.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe environment throughout the warehouse.
  • Follow corporate-mandated Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) protocols, and report all injuries and/or near misses to supervisor immediately.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Must possess the skills and ability to set up, operate, and maintain handheld manufacturing equipment, and knowledge of and experience with sheet metal assemblies is required.
  • The ability to follow as well as develop and document assembly processes and techniques is required.
  • High attention to detail and experience with inventory management
  • Accuracy in part selection
  • Thin Sheet Metal working experience
    • Drilling
    • Riveting
    • Trimming/Cutting
    • Countersinking
    • Dimpling
  • Carbon Fiber Composites working experience
  • Capable of standing for extended periods
  • Ability to occasionally lift upwards of 50 lbs consistently
  • Experience working in a manufacturing type of environment
  • Self-starter requiring limited supervision, and able to perform job assignments with a very high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • A quality-focused approach to producing accurate work

Required Experience and Education

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years of relevant production experience, in aerospace or related field.

 Work Conditions

  • Minimum 32 hours per week is required
  • Core hours: Monday – Friday 7:00am – 4:00pm
  • On-site warehouse/shop and office environment
  • Standard lunch and break periods
  • Environmentally controlled work area
  • Eye and ear protection is provided.

Base Compensation: USD 30.00 - 36.00 Paid Hourly
