Engineering Intern

Ducommun’s Huntsville Performance Center is seeking an Engineering Intern to work full-time during the summer. The Engineering intern will assist major plant layout project targeting workflow and space efficiency, learn conformal coating, and RFA assembly.  Project will impact overall production success and product on-time delivery.

Job Summary

  • Work under guidance from process engineering supervision to develop improvements to automated and manual processes in a high-tech electronics manufacturing facility.
  • Develop processes and related documentation and help train production personnel on correct methods.
  • Ability to work with machines utilizing programming and mechanical skills.
  • Evaluate process flows and plant layouts. Assist in small and large layout change implementations.
  • Use computer skills and software to develop improved ways of evaluating data and implementing change.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required by the position.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Able to work effectively within a team environment and across functional groups.
  • Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence.
  • Multitask, good decision making, self-motivated, and problem solve.
  • Must be computer literate, including AutoCAD, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of engineering principles required.
  • Ability to read and understand load plans

Required Experience and Education

  • Recent graduate or currently enrolled working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Knowledge of computer applications.
  • Team oriented willingness to learn.
