Position Summary
The Development Test Engineer is responsible to oversee, direct, and coordinate the use of our Testing Facility and equipment in accordance with customer and MagSeal specifications.  Analyze and resolve issues by drafting and executing test protocols, analyzing trends, gathering, analyzing, and reporting data, as well as supporting continuous improvements within this key engineering role
The Development Test Engineer will work closely with the Design Engineering team to continuously improve testing capabilities in order to expand MagSeal’s technology development and evaluation services. Additionally, the Development Test Engineer will design and manufacture required parts for the Test. The Development Test Engineer will also assist the Design Engineering team in development of new technologies and products, while supporting Manufacturing Engineering team in developing and implementing the latest technologies.

Responsibilities:
- Drafts proposals for testing programs and operating procedures; outlines the specific testing conditions to be applied.
- Set up, configure and operate test rigs and related systems (i.e. data acquisition, safety systems etc.) as required by test protocols and / or customer requirements. Design, manufacture and assemble test rigs and test rig components including but not limited to test pods, test shafts, etc.
- Studies the data gathered during testing and evaluates the validity of the results.
- Identifies any problems with new products; makes adjustments or recommendations to resolve problems.
- Responsible for 3D modeling, drawing creation, reverse engineering, and component selection for testing apparatus design.
- Evaluates our products, parts, procedures and processes for affectivity and reliability.
- Collaborate with MagSeal manufacturing on the production of new or replacement components for the test rigs.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of test results through documented processes and procedures.
- Troubleshoot and upgrade test rigs as needed.
- Develop, maintain and ensure compliance to documented procedures for day to day operations of the Test Lab.
- Ensure safe operation for the test rigs and associated supporting activities within the test lab at all times.
- Supports Manufacturing Engineering and the development and deployment of advanced manufacturing technologies in the areas of CNC Turning, Milling, and Grinding.
- Recommend & implement process and product changes in support of internal & external customer(s).
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent with 5-8 years’ relevant experience in a related field which is directly applicable to the field of mechanical seals is required.
- Must be a US citizen or a US permanent resident (i.e., a "Green Card" holder)
- Experienced in 3D modeling, is highly desirable.
- Experience in the testing of mechanical rotary face seals or other mechanical equipment is highly desirable.
- Familiar with a variety of sealing concepts, practices, and procedures.
- General knowledge or working experience of gearboxes, transmissions and accessories is desirable.
- Knowledge of AS9100 and ITAR regulations preferred.
