Quality Engineer - Aerospace

Job Summary & Essential Functions:
Support quality for current and future manufacturing requirements and determine the most effective methods to improve productivity through the management of people and technology.
Essential Functions:
- Review and analysis of the customer PO to assure compliance.
- Requires collaboration and coordination with other functional groups as well as weekly progress updates to communicate status of open action items.
- Assist cross functional teams in problem investigations.
- Recommend more efficient and quality-oriented processes in support of continual improvement
- Provide support to manufacturing including root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions to resolve problems in product manufactured.
- QA representative at meetings as required.
- Facilitate customer corrective actions request(CAR) responses.
- Data mining for trend analysis of defects and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
- Assist with Annual Internal Audits and Product Process Audits to ensure compliance.
- Assist in defining and monitoring the quality management system and in developing an organizational culture that stresses quality processes.
- Perform other assignments as required.
- Assist in monitoring personnel and processes to ensure compliance with company guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Update area supervision regarding concerns.
- Assist and support other special projects and tasks as necessary.
Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly processes together with work measurement and work standards.
- Proficient in technical writing, good documentation skills; attention to detail is critical; ability to read and interpret engineering drawings required.
- Demonstrated analytical expertise including ability to plan, resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities.
- Understanding of DOE, 6-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing desired.
- Intermediate level of computer skills in email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Microsoft Project and MRP/ERP.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers and project company image to attract business.
- Negotiation and conflict management skills together with demonstrated experience troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently and adapt within a rapidly changing environment.
Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
- 2 years experience in maintaining production and inventory control standards in a manufacturing setting.
- Prior experience with ISO or AS environments a plus.
