Director of Accounting Shared Services

The Director of Accounting Shared Services will be responsible for managing the Corporate Accounting, Shared Services Accounting, and Shared Services AR and AP teams and related day to day activities. Responsibilities include managing the monthly closing and financial consolidation process, supporting financial reporting for multiple segment/site locations, and accounting administration of stock-based compensation, debt, leases, fixed assets, restructuring, acquisitions and post-employment benefits. In addition, the position will lead or provide support related to SEC reporting, technical accounting research, and various other special projects. This position and related activities will require interfacing with all levels of Operations, Corporate, and Accounting personnel on a regular basis.

Job Summary

  • Responsible for supervising all general accounting activities, including ensuring the preparation and approval of journal vouchers (JVs).
  • Management of AR and AP Shared Services team and associated accounting processes.
  • Management of operational accounting processes including fixed assets, intercompany and payroll.
  • Management of technical accounting processes, including but not limited to revenue recognition, share-based compensation, goodwill impairment testing, acquisition purchase price allocation, leases, debt, hedging and post-employment benefits.
  • Management of account reconciliation process, including reviewing and approving reconciliations.
  • Support of external reporting preparation and review.
  • Support of investor communication preparation and review.
  • Support of Performance Center Controllers.
  • Supervision and maintenance of effective internal controls in accordance with SOX 404 requirements, including challenging and updating controls that best align with changes in systems and the business.
  • Management of internal and external auditing activities.
  • Leader of process improvements for existing processes as well as helping to define and document standard work.
  • Attention to detail as needed to ensure accuracy of financial information.
  • Lead and/or participate in various special projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Solid knowledge of GAAP.
  • Solid SEC reporting knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral).
  • At least intermediate Excel skills.
  • Hands on experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems and tools.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and experience optimizing accounting processes, including use of automation, to drive effective, efficient and timely monthly closes.
  • Strong hands on leadership skills and ability to work well in a team and matrix environment.
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment.

Required Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in either Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university.
  • CPA certification.
  • Must possess solid knowledge of GAAP and proper accounting procedures.
  • Must possess solid knowledge of SEC reporting requirements.
  • Solid knowledge of internal controls and SOX 404 requirements.
  • Public company experience is required.
  • Eight plus years experience, including a blend of Big 4 or mid-tier public accounting experience plus experience in private industry.

Base Compensation: USD 190,000.00 - 220,000.00 Paid Salaried
