The Hand Solder role is unique for individuals who like to use precision hand tools and soldering components like surface mount and thru-hole.

Job Summary & Essential Functions:

Build through-hole (THT) and surface mount (SMT) printed circuit board assemblies, placing components on boards per controlled parts lists, drawing documentation and quality workmanship guidelines.

  • Assemble electrical or electromechanical devices or components using a variety of hardware/tools.
  • Pull up documentation required to preform work on customer assemblies
  • Basic hand soldering of surface mount, through-hole components and simple wiring
  • Perform basic touch ups
  • Operate a variety of equipment as needed to fulfill customer requirements
  • Familiar with soldering iron tips and chemicals
  • Understand and identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship standard and class
  • Responsible for the proper handling of product and components
  • Perform work with minimal supervision and instruction
  • Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
  • Maintain necessary records
  • Perform other assignments as required

Skills & Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

  • J-STD-001 certified
  • Basic soldering skills
  • Intermediate level computer skills
  • Ability to read and understand engineering assembly drawings
  • Ability to read and follow assembly instructions
  • Ability to build electrical and electromechanical assemblies
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and dexterity
  • Ability to use tools
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
