Industrial Engineer/ Labor Estimator

Work as a key member of the proposal team to developassembly labor rates with operations and support engineering.

Job Summary

  • Serve in a team enviroment, in person, where experiences and skills can be shared for the overall success of the programs
  • Support proposal development customers by calculating labor costs and evaluating the customer’s technical data package
  • Review work instructions, specifications, drawings, verbal instructions, and interpret for labor requirements
  • Develop Indented Bills of Material from Customer Furnished Technical Data Packages as needed
  • Develop labor requirements, estimates, Friedman’s curve and make recommendations
  • Assists with overall proposal development and grow professionallly with the proposal team
  • Partipate in labor time studies as required
  • Perform other professional Industrial Engineering tasks as required

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skill in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and specifications
  • Planning and organization skills—prioritization, resource allocation, multi-tasking
  • Must have intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including e-mail, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint\\
  • Analytical skills to prepare most competitive/profitable proposal
  • Thorough working knowledge of manufacturing processes and capabilities; technical knowledge to understand cable fabrication
  • Understanding MFG drawings; Able to convert and read CAD, Gerber data
  • Understand bill of material structures
  • Understanding of electronic component verbiage; Understanding of basic circuit board process (Thru Hole, SMT)Work closely with Manufacturing, Test, and Quality Engineers

Required Experience and Education

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Engineering related Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years progressive experience performing estimating functions or B.S. in Industrial Engineering

Preferred but Not Required

  • B.S. Electrical or Industrial Engineering
  • Software experience with SupplyWin, BAAN MRP, Propricer, Access/SQL, Visio, and Microsoft Project
  • Six Sigma Certifications or courses
