SMT Technician - Proto (1st Shift)
Job Description
Job Summary & Essential Functions:
The Technician – Proto is responsible for creating programs and part templates for assigned equipment including the screenprinter, pick & place equipment/mydata, AOI and X-Ray. The Technician – Proto troubleshoots line process issues and acts as a liaison between engineering to resolve documentation discrepancies. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Create reflow profiles
- Identify and implement process improvements to improve quality and efficiency
- Lead line changovers to decrease line down time
- Set-up and operate for assigned production equipment while achieving goals for quality, efficiency and productivity
- Monitor the operation of equipment to ensure that assemblies are built to print and in compliance with applicable workmanship standards
- Perform daily machine maintenance activities for assigned equipment as specified on the Preventative Maintenance schedules
- Understand and identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship standard and class
Inspect printed solder paste and component alignment for accuracy - Adhere to General Requirements of Team Members
- Perform other assignments as required
- Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area
Skills & Qualifications
Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:
- Associates degree in electronics technology preferred or 3 or more years in manufacturing setting with knowledge of PCBs
- 2+ years of mydata programming experience preferred
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Prefer programming experience for mydata equipment sets
- Basic computer skills (Excel and Word, E-mail)
- Ability to read and understand production drawings
- Ability to be self managing and work independently
- Abilities listed in General Requirements of Team Members
