Job Description


Job Summary & Essential Functions:  

The SharePoint Architect & Administrator position is part of the IT Business Applications team which services all Ducommun sites globally. This position requires the ability to effectively design, plan, deploy and administer SharePoint 2016 Site Collections and perform client service deliverables using Office 365 tools including OneDrive and SharePoint integrations. This position will require analysis, design, development, migrate and deployment of SharePoint solutions and ensuring compliance with governance policies within Ducommun. Examples of these solutions may include enterprise content management, internal and client-facing portals, custom business process workflows, and business intelligence dashboards.

Essential Functions

• Migrate Ducommun to SharePoint 2016, preferably SP 2019 when GA.


• Architect & lead the complete deployment and SDLC for SharePoint and integrated O365 solutions, including analysis, design, configuring, programming, and testing.


• Lead and architect all custom SharePoint solutions. This includes working with all levels of business both verbally and in writing to determine business needs and how to address them with SharePoint. Utilize best practices.

• Design, develop, customize our Intranet, department sites, mobile apps, projects sites, and team sites for potential integration with other Enterprise systems (ERP) and third-party products., with relevant Workflows, list forms, document management and permissions (internal and external).


• Continually strive to improve the efficiency and usability of our SharePoint solutions, leveraging ongoing research on emerging SharePoint development tools and strategies and understanding of business needs.

• Anticipate changes to SharePoint offerings through a broad understanding of the technical issues and engagement in Ducommun’s strategic direction. Partner with Infrastructure, Security, Network Services, and Information Management capability teams to architect and deliver current and future Platform solutions.


• Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.

• Provide expertise and support to business managers and other members of IT to determine how to best implement, support, and use SharePoint.


• Oversee and set strategic and functional guidance, in the implementation and development of all governance, standards, and policies.


• Collaborate with IT Security Manager and help in implementing services such as Information/Digital Rights Management (IRM, DRM) and MDM.

• Perform SharePoint 2016 central administration and management of site collections.


• Provides daily operational support while bringing adoption and advancement of cloud services using Office 365.


• Create functional requirements and design documents to ensure business requirements are accurately recorded.

• Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.


• Performs other duties as assigned including leading projects and participation in project committees

Skills & Qualifications


Required Skills & Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, qualifications, competencies, abilities and any physical demands if required.

 

  • Expert in SharePoint Online/2016, O365, and OneDrive implementations as an overall solutions designer, admin and developer. 5+ years hands on SharePoint design and development experience

  • Thorough understanding of SharePoint Architecture, site collections; sites, etc. and/or metadata, content management, collaboration, reports, search, Workflow, PowerShell, Visual Studios & MS Power Apps.

  • Must possess knowledge of business workflows and have an in depth understanding of the capabilities of SharePoint, Windows SharePoint Services and SharePoint Designer / Visual Studio.

  • Hands On administration experience with O365 cloud technologies - Azure, OneDrive, Yammer, SharePoint Teams is a plus

  • Team player with solid organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and a willingness to both follow and propose improvements to established procedures 

  • Motivated learner with a drive and ability, via self-teaching and/or training, to quickly learn our systems, understand the underlying business, and incorporate new technologies in ways that enhance the productivity and effectiveness of our users 

  • Maintain professional standards with ITIL application within a global enterprise. 

  • Communicates effectively with all levels; customers, management, and staff some who are not particularly familiar with project data or electronic data management. Listens to learn.

Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered. 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 7+ years of experience in IT, including 3+ years of experience developing and delivering SharePoint 2016 sites. Microsoft Certification is a must. 

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field.

  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills and advanced problem solving capabilities.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing and developing business presentations

  • US Citizen or green card required
