Plan, Organize, Schedule, and purchase requisitioned items to include materials, equipment, and service in accordance with established procedures. Responsible for performing all purchasing tasks including the purchase of important or critical items requiring extensive or specialized knowledge and experience. Negotiates contracts where losses, occurring through errors in judgment would seriously impact Company operations. Assist in the establishment of Purchasing policies and procedures. May provide guidance to other Purchasing Personnel.

Review MRP for parts requirements to support new releases of requisitions for procurement and changes in existing purchase order quantity and delivery requirements.
Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders as required ensuring competitive pricing through negotiation of price and lead-times.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers that align with Ducommun’s sourcing strategies.Actively participate in Ducommun quoting opportunities and ensure alignment with customer pricing, Leadtime and quality requirements.
Arranges for and authorizes the return of rejected material to suppliers.
Confirms prices charged on invoices and handles adjustment claims.
Arranges for interview and contacts between suppliers or their representatives and Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, Tooling, and/or other Manufacturing Personnel.
Administer basic purchasing functions such as maintaining more than one source of supply, verifying purchase order request for proper authorization suggesting changes or adjustments in quantities to take advantage of price breaks and trends.
Promotes supplier adherence to schedules by personal contact, assisting in the procurement of materials, components parts, tooling, supplies, etc.
Assumes responsibility for proper closure of purchase orders.
Perform Miscellaneous duties as required by supervision.

Experienced procurement professional with technical knowledge, preferably in aerospace industry.

Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product, or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered.

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or other related degree.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Procurement and Aerospace regulations.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience with QS/ISO, ERP, or MRP environment and culture.
• Previous experience in high-mix and low volume manufacturing business.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
• Knowledge of engineering, production, and process techniques such as lean and continuous improvement.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Power Point, and Systems Database/Query Capability.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, occasionally lift one to ten pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus to review supply chain documents, identify parts and clearly see operations and identify hazards in the production area. Use of computer screen and other electronic devices.
• Working Conditions are: 80% office environment, 15% manufacturing environment; 5% outdoors. • Noise level is moderate in office environment.
• Hearing protection must be worn in designated manufacturing areas.
• Fully enclosed shoes, leather construction, must be worn in all manufacturing areas.
• Safety glasses (ANSI Z87 compliant) required in all manufacturing areas.
