Job Summary:  The following describes in general terms the purpose and scope of the position.

Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines. Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.

Operates manufacturing machines as instructed by supervisory personnel to produce parts to meet company standards for quality and quantity.  Checks and inspect parts with guidance from supervisor for conformance to quality standards.  Reports machine discrepancies and production problems to minimize downtime and scrap.  Keeps work area clean and orderly for efficiency and safety.  Maintains records on time, job, part, operation, etc. for production reporting.  Works with deburring and grinding equipment.  Work from verbal and written direction of others.

Skills & Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.

May require 0-1 year of general work experience.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.  Safety glasses, safety shoes and other designated personal protective equipment as required for the position.

Hearing protection must be worn in designated manufacturing areas
Fully enclosed shoes, leather construction, must be worn in all manufacturing areas
Safety glass required in all manufacturing areas
