Reports To: Eng Supervisor                                          FSLA Status: Non-exempt

Job Summary & Essential Functions: Under general supervision, perform assigned tasks to test electronic assemblies to specifications using schematics, process sheets and required standard and/or special purpose test equipment.

• Write advanced test programming and train other technicians and operators in use.

• Duties involve a broad spectrum of electronic and mechanical calibrations. Requires use of numerous electronic test equipment and mechanical gauging, reading precise measurements of electronic and dimensional data to the closest tolerance exercising a thorough knowledge of and ability to use such a wide variety of precision instruments.

• Determine technical accuracy, operation, and proper sequencing of test procedures

• Perform failure analysis to component level using schematics and various types of test equipment, document finding and make recommendations for corrective actions.

• Tests involves understanding of electronic theory and interpretation of results

• Perform variety of tasks to ensure production quality standards are met.

• Construct test set-ups, interfaces to Unit Under Test (UUT), test fixtures, and other test aids.

• Perform lower level test duties as necessary.

• Make recommendations for procedural changes as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in reading and applying information from wiring lists, wiring schematics, process sheets and procedures.

  • Basic soldering skills and ability to work with small hand/crimp tools.

  • Intermediate to Advanced computer skills; ability to open programs and input data; programming ability preferred.

  • Understanding of electrical safety.

  • Ability to learn on the job training skills as it relates to Digital Voltmeters and Power Supplies.

  • Comprehensive understanding of electronic theory and ability to interpret results

  • Ability to work overtime and weekends, as needed.

    Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered.  List in bullet fashion what they must possess.

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 2 years vocational degree, military training certification or Associate’s in electronics or related field required

  • 4 years prior demonstrated experience working with and troubleshooting electrical components required. Prior programming experience using graphical interface (i.e. HP-VEE, LabView) preferred.

  • Knowledge of developing relation databases (Ii.e Excel, Access) preferred.
