Job Description

Leads and optimizes manufacturing processes for assigned areas to achieve Operational Excellence and Profitable Growth.  Coordinates the execution of production and manufacturing schedules to meet customer demand, quality requirements and establish business objectives for the assigned process areas.  The individual is on the Monrovia Supervisory Team and assigned process area to support Customer requirements , reporting directly to the Operations Manager.

 

  • Working knowledge and administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) in order to maintain strong and positive working relationship with the union leadership.
  • Ensure time and attendance are updated and maintained “real-time” for all assigned personnel using BAAN and Kronos, including the accurate maintenance of overtime records, equalization of overtime, and the weekly posting overtime records in accordance with the requirements of the CBA and company policy.
  • Ensure that assigned employees are properly trained / cross-trained and are performing in accordance with expected productivity measures.
  • Develop staffing plans in support of manufacturing requirements
  • Deliver quality products to meet customer demand, contractual requirements and business objectives based on schedules
  • Effectively utilize and execute continuous improvement activities to reduce cost, improve competiveness relative to hours-per-unit, cycle times and required quality in a visual factory.
  • Control and improve operational costs, both direct and indirect for assigned areas.
  • Coordinate with EH&S to foster workplace safety and enforcement of safety policies and training

  • Participate in periodic audits to ensure compliance to company standards

  • Participate in recruiting, selection, and development of all operations personnel through maintaining discipline and personnel relations, interviewing screened applicants

  • Provide input for hiring, terminations, transfers, salary adjustments, and promotions

  • Team with Supply Chain for the maintenance of inventory levels to optimize operating income and drive a competitive position for future business.
  • Directs the day-to-day priorities of identified Quality and Process resources to support overarching business requirements.

To achieve success in this role, an individual must successfully deliver continuous improvement on the Site-based X-Matrix Goals and the following specific metrics:

  • On-time delivery of quality product based on Corporate and Customer demands

  • Control scrap of assigned area within established limits

  • Continued efficiency gains through Continuous Improvement as measured by:

    • Hours/unit

    • Defects per unit

    • Inventory turns

    • Budget performance to financial goals

Skills & Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.



•         Bachelor’s degree, preferably  in an engineering, manufacturing or a technical field and relevant experience.

•         Five (5) to Ten (10) years experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment with increasing levels of responsibilities including supervision and management experience.

•         Knowledge of aerospace company specifications and best-practices.

•         Ability to lead a group of people in a constructive, productive, and fair manner.

•         Strong analytical and communication skills.

•         Ability to drive relentless root cause analyses.

•     Able to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to details

•      Able to handle multiple tasks, have good organizational skills and a high level of energy
•      Computer skills-intermediate knowledge of e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Internet  

        Explorer, ERP, Kronos etc.

•      Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.
