Job Description

  • Manage and create proposals for RFI/RFP for Ducommun assigned product group from kickoff meetings to submittal of the proposal to customer.
  • Manage daily communications and schedule within the organization to ensure proper proposals to be prepared within given time.
  • Support of reviewing contracts and negotiation.
  • Host customer meeting in support of assigned programs
  • Manage programs from the time of award to delivery of production hardware.
  • Support and manage and present project plans as required both internal and external
  • Support & manage customers’ day to day communications, meetings, and tele-cons for projects/programs assigned.
  • Support function for Sales and Marketing with quote preparation
  • Travel as needed to advance program success
  • Prepare specifications and contracts for contract services
  • Coordinate standard production projects, and other special projects
  • Assist in the preparation of various contracts, requests for proposals, and reports
  • Monitor budget expenditures, and control supplies and equipment as needed to support new or special projects until handoff to new process owner(s.)
  • Attend and participate in professional group meetings, Incorporate new developments as appropriate into programs
  • Perform other assignments as required.
  • Business travel up to 15%
  • Prepare specifications and contracts for contract services 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology preferred
  • Five or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with electromechanical, aerospace, and industrial applications
  • Able to read and interpret documents such, as blue prints or mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to add subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Lean Enterprise Techniques and Experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to shift priorities with little or no notice.
  • Has extensive and broad knowledge in a field of specialization and knowledge of other fields.  Is able to adapt methods to solve problems.  Uses creativity to resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to understand conception drawings and sketches, specifications, contracts
  • Familiar with motors and resolver space products such as BLDC, Stepper and Resolvers & their testing.

  • Experience in mechanical design engineering, program management, account management, sales

  • Ability to travel

  • Ability to develop new approach as challenges arise

  • Ability to work and deal successfully with ambiguity
